Mystics’ Beard has shoulder surgery (AP)

Washington Mystics guard Alana Beard had surgery on her left shoulder and is expected to make a full recovery for the 2008 WNBA season. Her torn labrum was repaired Thursday night at Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington. “This is a problem that Alana fought through all season,” general manager Linda Hargrove said.
