Larry Robinson, who guided the Devils to a Stanley Cup title as the head coach in 2000, returned to the New Jersey bench on Wednesday as an assistant to new coach Brent Sutter. Assistant coach John MacLean and goaltending coach Jacques Caron were retained from Claude Julien’s staff while former Devils defenseman Tommy Albelin also was named an assistant coach.
